About the role

The Google Workspace Systems Specialist reports directly to the Managing Director and acts as the internal technical lead for Google Workspace systems and migrations.

You’ll work closely with our Level 1 support team, providing escalation support and guiding technical decisions.

You will also work directly with clients to ensure their systems are secure, efficient, and fully adopted.

This is a fully remote, full-time role, and we are ideally looking for someone based in the Asia Pacific time zone with some overlap with Sydney, Australia working hours.

In this role you will:

Design and manage secure Google Workspace environments including Shared Drives, permissions and data retention policies.
Execute
flawless data migrations from Microsoft 365, Dropbox, IMAP servers and other platforms into Google Workspace.
Manage
email authentication and deliverability including DMARC, SPF and DKIM alignment.
Use
command line tools such as GAM and other automation tools to manage environments at scale.
Monitor client environments for
security risks and anomalies.
Conduct
monthly technical account reviews with clients to ensure systems remain secure and well adopted.
Implement
AI-assisted workflows and automation to improve internal efficiency and client systems.
Provide
technical escalation support to Level 1 support staff and help them grow their knowledge.
Document all systems, migrations and configurations to a
“done done” standard in our internal knowledge base.

Core Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role you must have strong hands-on technical experience with Google Workspace and related infrastructure.

Essential skills include:

Expert-level Google Workspace administration (Google Workspace Administrator certification preferred).
Strong knowledge of
email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM).
Deep understanding of
DNS and internet infrastructure (MX, TXT, CNAME, TTL, nameservers).
Experience executing
data migrations from platforms like Microsoft 365, Dropbox and IMAP servers.
Experience with
command line tools and automation such as GAM, Bash or similar.
Knowledge of
cybersecurity best practices and frameworks (such as NIST awareness).
Understanding of
device management across Mac, Android and Chromebook environments.

Experience using AI/LLM tools to accelerate technical work, documentation and analysis.
